This has been a busy summer for many of us.  Gregory & Jacqueline Brown,  Jim & Sharon Hall have moved to Chatham in the last year and have been working hard to get their respective  garden railroads up and running. Yours truly has been to Halifax also building a garden railroad and promoting the hobby.

It has been so busy, that the last club get together was postponed due to summer commitments. All that is over and August should return everyones schedule back to normal.

LONDON GARDEN RAILROAD CLUB

       VISITS CHATHAM

The London club was in Chatham on Saturday, August 22nd for their monthly meeting. Roy Walker, Gregory & Dennis Brown opened their layouts for the club members to visit. The weather was a little iffy but everyone stayed dry.

Top photo is Greg’s layout in the foreground and meeting taking place under the canopy.

I received a pleasant surprise that day. While the club members were touring my yard and introducing themselves, I heard a familiar voice. Pictured at right is Dennis Brown and Frank Swiston, one of the retired  supervisors from the Ford plant in St. Thomas where we both worked. The goal of every employee is to get out alive and live long enough to enjoy retirement. God, we look good.

                               NEW SALES PAGE

There has been a great deal of interest in having a standing sale page every month. To keep it simple, every seller will have his own pdf file for a buyer to look thru. It will contain all the necessary contact information and pictures instead of a verbal description.

If you are a club member and would like to set up a sale page please contact Dennis Brown at 519-358-7245/ gscale49@cogeco.ca.

          WOODSTOCK MODEL TRAIN SHOW

The Woodstock show is on Sunday, Oct. 24 at the Woodstock Fairgrounds. Instead of our monthly meeting we will be attending this show. This is a major event in the hobby and although it is dominated by HO scale trains there are quite a few garden railroad sellers. This is also where children bring their parents model train paraphernalia to sell. I can speak from experience that this event is worth attending.

We will be carpooling as well to this event, so keep an eye on your emails for more information.

Club member. Jason Brown, of Lower Sackville has built a Water Tower and has posted pictures and verbal description of it all. Be sure to save this one for future reference. Yes, that is a tire pressure gauge as a water spout.
